Many users have reported issues setting up an IMAP connection in the NEW Outlook Desktop App. You can get around this by changing to the Legacy Outlook App, configuring IMAP, and then turning off the Legacy Mode, which takes you back to the new outlook app version.


SWITCHING TO LEGACY OUTLOOK:

  1. Open Outlook and click Help > Revert to Legacy Outlook

  2. Follow the steps from above.

  3. Once your IMAP is set up you can switch back to the new version of Outlook by switching Legacy Outlook to Off


OUTLOOK APP: 

On MacOS you can only set up IMAP on Outlook Legacy (Instructions Below) but you can switch back to the newest version once your IMAP is configures

  1. Open Outlook and click File > Add Account.

  2. Choose Manual setup or additional server types and click Next.

  3. Select IMAP and click Next.

  4. Enter your NameEmail addressAccount type (IMAP), Incoming server name {mail.mailconfig.net}, and Outgoing server name {mail.mailconfig.net}.

  5. Click Next.

  6. Enter your User name (your email address) and Password (your password)

  7. Click More settings.

  8. Go to the Outgoing server tab and check My outgoing server (SMTP) requires authentication.

  9. Select Use same settings as my incoming server.

  10. Click OK and then Next.

  11. Test your account settings and click Close.
